CHURCH END BREWERY
Beer Pump Clips ...
They are the traditional pub signs that all drinkers take for granted the distinctive illustrated signs for your local Public House, "The Red Lion", "Coach and Horses" and even “The Boleyn” tavern, but once inside it's the beer pump advertising that entice you to sup a pint of ale.
Breweriana is the name given to “collecting historical Brewery advertising” and as the England National side prepare to travel to The World Cup Finals in Russia, many independent breweries up and down the country will be brewing “England” themed ales for the occasion. The Heretford Brewery with "They Think it’s ALE Over“ and "Bo66y" from Greene King.
Pump clips are brewery advertisements of the beer they are serving, they clip on to hand pumps which serve the beer. The clips were traditionally made of metal, other materials include plastic with the pressed foam being the most common type.
Previous Euro’s and World Cup Finals have seen Bobby Moore and Geoff Hurst depicted on such brews as “They Drink It’s All Over“, “Bobby’s Best Bitter“, and even West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce was honoured with his own brew “Should’ve Been Sam” in reference to the vacant England managers position whilst with Bolton Wanderers.
