West Ham United's Under-17 side were invited to complete in the TorneoInternazionale Di Calcio in Italy between 10th - 13th April 1998.The young Hammers reached the final of a tournament after group match victories over Bologna (Italy) 3-1, Servette (Switzerland) 3-1 and Spilambert (Italy) 9-0. A 1-0 semi-final victory over Motherwell (Scotland) booked the Under-16s place in the final. West Ham secured a 1st Classificato finish after defeated Bologna 1-0 to secure the trophy.

UEFA Commemorative Pennant
West Ham United was presented with this commemorative football pennant on the occasion of the 1999 UEFA European Cup Winners' Cup Final.
The final was contested at Villa Park, Birmingham between Spanish side Real Mallorca and Italian giants S.S. Lazio.
Lazio won the match 2–1 to win the last-ever Cup Winners' Cup and their first European trophy.
